Jumping to Morocco, I’m posting a couple of doors from the Oudaya Kasbah in Rabat, Morocco. According to Wikipedia, the walled citadel of Oudaya is located at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river, opposite Salé, and adjacent to the old medina of Rabat. It is listed, along with other sites in Rabat, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour enjoyed this picturesque little city with alleyways and many outdoor merchants selling their wares. More about the kasbah can be found in Wikipedia at this LINK
This was an impressive door at the entrance to the citadel.
At the end of the tour we headed back towards the entrance and passed this door.
And, as we waited for our tour bus I saw this; was it an old Moroccan door security system? Knock and enter at your own peril.
Thank you for visiting my post and thanks again to Norm 2.0 for his creation of the Thursday Doors website that gives us bloggers an outlet to let our thoughts be put on paper or in this case, web space. For more posts and photos of doors by others please go to: Thursday Doors.

Hey, I got an email from you— Does my link not work? All pretty doors, but most of all I like the third:) Although the first one is also amazing!

Thnks, Jesh. I checked your post through the WordPress Reader; sometimes I have issues making comments and the Like button does work unless I respond through the WP Reader.

Wow, that first one is massive. I swear, everything I’ve seen of Moroccan doors, and their old architecture in general, has left me convinced I would love it there. Thanks for sharing these 🙂

Thank you, Norm. The experience was more than what I expected but you get to see how the other side of the world lives and also see traditional ways of life intertwined with modern life. Not plugging any advertisements but Gate 1 travel did an excellent tour and many tour members said they repeatedly used them because of their great tours (we had some Canadians with us on the tour, too); unfortunately, Morocco shut its doors due to the COVID-19 virus for now and we were extremely lucky to have taken that 18-day tour.

Thanks, Deborah! The doors came in all colors, sizes, shapes and materials with backdrops that really make you think you’re in a movie.

Yes, it was a great place to tour; when we toured Spain many years ago I did not want to go to Morocco but I’m glad we did this tour this time.

Jumping to Morocco is quite a jump, Gordon, but some wonderful doors here. That must have been quite a trip and I’m glad you got it in before all the craziness started!
