I haven’t been doing doorscursions lately so I dug up a door from the past that would be good feature for this week’s Thursday Doors post.
We were entertaining some out-of-town guests in late 2017 and headed to Carmel and Big Sur. While in Carmel we passed the alleyway that takes you to the Thomas Kinkade Garden Gallery. Many people recognize Kinkade’s paintings having a distinct style of depicting homes and streets in small towns, cities and natural landscapes, all having themes of the light. I didn’t make the trek through the alleyway to the gallery this time but I got a shot of the door to that alleyway which has its own special lighting.
Thank you for visiting my post and thanks again to Norm 2.0 for his creation of the Thursday Doors website that gives us bloggers an outlet to let our thoughts be put on paper or in this case, web space. For more posts and photos of doors by others please go to: Thursday Doors.
This is en mon avis the best of Kinkade! In his early years, he was wonderful and fresh, but he as began to be seen everywhere I lost interest. He became commercial and all his work began to look alike to me.
I love the contrast you saw with the shadows on the door! Good eye!

Thanks, Deborah! I know what you mean; his work became too commercialized but I still enjoy seeing it once in awhile.
